Whilst the chart only says United States when adding up Famitsu Japanese, GfK European, and NPD US hardware unit sales the totals come up a bit short of the totals posted above, however, once Canadian NPD sales are included the totals match almost perfectly once rounding errors are taken into account. Therefore I'm fairly confident that the above chart also includes Canada along with the US.

Deducting European and Japanese figures from Famitsu White Paper totals leaves us with more accurate North American hardware sales:
Doing the same with software sales gives the NPD software units by platform figures, which I haven't seen published before:
