  1. That's great those two lists, because we have 6 games on 360 with numbers LTD to 13 december, we will never had whithout the 360 list.
Normally, famitsu will give a top 30 for 2009 for the 360, and a top 50 LTD at the end of 2009. I think for the end of week 52.
I actually know the 28 games wich are going to do the top 30 of 2009. Two games are unknown

    The top 30 actually :

1 Star Ocean 4: The Last hope 208521 (week 2 july)
    2 Resident Evil 5 121984 (week 3 august)
    3 Bayonetta 86841 (week 2 december)
4 Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation (plat.) 86,534 (week 2 december)
5 Beautiful Katamari Damacy (plat.) 74,166 (week 2 december)
    6 Gears of War 2 63648 (week 2 september)
7 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 60517 (week 2 december)
    8 Dream C Club 55809 (week 2 october)
    9 Magna Carta 2 53908 (week 2 september)
10 Street Fighter IV 52937 (week 4 june)
11 Tales of Vesperia 41522 (week 2 october)
    12 Halo 3: ODST 41478 (week 2 october)
    13 Steins;Gate 39075 (week 2 december)
    14 Left 4 Dead 2 36875 (week 2 december)
    15 Forza Motorsport 3 36601 (week 2 november)
    16 Tekken 6 33732 (week 3 november)
    17 Assassin's Creed II 33186 (week 2 december)
    18 Halo Wars 32919 (week 2 june)
    19 BlazBlue 31928 (week 1 september)
20 Shin Sangoku Musou 5 Empires 31735 (week 1 september)
    21 Left 4 Dead 26888 (week 2 february)
    22 Halo 3 (Plat.) 25508 (week 2 december)
    23 Mass Effect 24852 (week 3 june)
24 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Plat.) 24567 (week 2 december)
    25 DeathSmiles 24124 (week 2 may)
    26 Gundam Musou 2 22739 (week 2 april)
27 Chaos; Head Noah 21636 (week 3 march)
28 The Last Remnant 19882 (week 2 july)
29 Mushihimesama Futari Ver 1.5 17609 (week 2 december, can be out of the top 30 by fallout 3 and WSWE 2010, so can maybe never been updated)
30 World Soccer Winning Eleven 2010 15638 (week 2 december, can be out of the top 30 by fallout 3 and MF V 1.5, but we will have an update of the LTD number at the end of the week 2 of january)

I think WSWE 2010 is going to beat 18000 units at the end of the week 52, as MF V 1.5, but who will winning between the two, no idea.

The next games in the list that can be the 2 mysterious games in the top 30 are:

Ninja Blade 13129 (week 2 february, can be over 15000 units, but not over 18000)
Left 4 Dead (Plat.) 12988 (week 2 december, can be over 14000 units)
DoDonPachi Daioujou Black Label Extra 12861 (week 2 march, can be over 14000 units)
X-Blades 12707 (week 2 june, can be over 13000 units)
Tom Clancy's Hawx 12359 (week 2 may, can be over 14000 units)
Way of the Samurai 3 12170 (week 2 march, can be over 14000 units)
Fallout 3 12162 (week 2 january, no idea and maybe can reach 18000 units) (we will have the number for 2009 because the game is in the top 50 LTD)
11eyes CrossOver 11317 (can be over 13000 units)

But lost planet colonies and fable II can be over 12000 units too:

Fable II 8712 (week 2 january, no idea but under 18000) (we will have the number for 2009 because the game is in the top 50 LTD)
Lost Planet Colonies 8382 (week 2 december, bundled with the console, so can make over 2000 units during weeks 51 and 52, we will have the update of the number at the end of the week 2 of january)

All the others game are sure to be under 15000 units. Two have reached 10000 units for sure (red faction guerrilla and armored core for answer plat), but shin sangoku multi raid special, fifa 10, dragon ball raging blast are going to do more than 10000 units too.

  2. I forget the top 500.
So, the two last games of my list of 30 games will certainly been in the top 500 if they miss the top 30 360
The top 500 will give all the game over 18000 units (sure)(19000 last year), or 17000 (maybe), or 16000 (maybe, maybe).
So more than 31 games on 360 are going to be in the top 500 which is the first time (24 games last year).

  3. Yeah, they should be in the Top 500, but we won't get that until Famitsu publish their White Paper in May.

  4. For the top 500, there is 500 games, so even if last year, they were all the games over 18800 units, its not sure, that all the games over 18000 units are going to be in the list for 2009 (i said that because the top 100 in the middle of the year has the game ranked at 100 with largely less units than 2008).
I said that (not sure over 18000), because, if there is more game on 360 (certainly the same story for ps3 and psp), it must exist platforms, where there is less game than 2008. It can be the ps2 (certainly, how many ???) and DS (possibly, DS is not the monster she was).
I have no impressions for the wii.
For total units (from dengeki top through week 51), i think that there is 4% units less than 2008, but the 7 first game of 2009 (over 1 million) sold largely more than the 7 first game of 2008.
So the 493 last games, sold largely less in 2009 than in 2008, and so the game ranked 500 must sold less than in 2008.

  5. As you say, the threshold should be lower this year, lower overall unit sales, and a larger percentage taken up by a the top selling games.

And yes, looking at the monthly PS2 Top 10s we can see that it will have far less games in the Top 500 this year.

I've added the budget versions to the totals from the Top 20 LTDs from July (I've now added the other platforms: http://wwvgsales.blogspot.com/2009/07/japan-top-20-ltd-charts-by-platform.html) and Top 500s which gives these totals:

    [PS3] Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (Konami) - 59,092 + 705,772 = 764,864
    [PS3] Minna No Golf 5 (Sony) - 96,967 + 410,052 = 507,019
    [PS3] Ryu ga Gotoku Kenzan! (Sega) - 65,236 + 270,438 = 335,674
    [PS3] Devil May Cry 4 (Capcom) - 23,770 + 310,102 = 333,872
    [PS3] Grand Theft Auto IV (Capcom) - 33,202 + 211,240 = 244,442
    [360] Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation (Namco Bandai Games) - 128,414 + 95,002 = 223,416
    [PS3] Valkyria Chronicles (Sega) - 81,625 + 141,589 = 223,214
    [PS3] Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Square Enix) - 88,573 + 113,957 = 202,503
    [PS3] Way of the Samurai 3 Plus (Spike) - 20,593 + 125,791 = 146,384
    [360] Beautiful Katamari Damacy (Namco Bandai Games) - 115,658 + 24,747 = 140,405
    [360] Halo 3 (Microsoft) - 25,508 + 83,696 = 109,204
    [360] Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Square Enix) - 24,567 + 54,752 = 79,319
    [PS3] Uncharted: Drake's Fortune (Sony) - 39,679 + 38,242 = 77,921
    [360] Grand Theft Auto IV (Capcom) - 6,210 + 59,893 = 66,103
    [360] Devil May Cry 4 (Capcom) - 6,360 + 55,259 = 61,619
    [360] Armored Core for Answer (From Software) - 10,974 + 40,391 = 51,365
    [360] Fable II (Microsoft) - 6,151 + 43,682 = 49,833

Some of the games towards the bottom may be missing some sales though. For example Uncharted just made the Media Create Top 500, but missed out on Famitsu Top 500, so is probably around 15k higher or so. I guess the same is true for some of the X360 games too.

Looking forward to getting the Top 100 in a few weeks.
