Wii Play down in 25th sold around 6k/week during August, if that kept up for September it would put it around 30k or the month, so 13th - 25th are possibly somewhere around 30k - 40k.

UK Week One Fastest Sellers

This is a list of Games known to have sold 110,000 or more first week in the UK.

Numbers are obtained from a combination of various sources such as Chart-Track's weekly UK Games News, UK monthly charts, ELSPA Sales Awards, and media reports.

When Chart-Track announce actual numbers to the media they extrapolate to 100% of the market from the 90% that they track, but ELSPA numbers such as the UK monthly charts, and ELSPA Sales Awards are not extrapolated, therefore the following numbers have all been adjusted to reflect 100% of the market.

This list is not complete, it may be missing titles, and for some titles only a "~" rough number is known. Outside of the top selling titles exact positions may be incorrect, but if used with these limitations in mind it can be a useful tool for estimating first week sales of titles from any data given in Chart-Track's weekly UK Games News.

Greek Hardware Sales (GfK)

This is the first time I've seen any GfK figures or installed bases for Greece. Overall market data is from GfK, installed bases seem to be from Nortec Multimedia, the official distributer for Nintendo in Greece.

Australia: PS3 sells 47,000 in September + Wii forecasts

SCE Australia's Michael Ephraim claims 47,000 PS3s sold in September, nearly as much as Wii, and outselling Xbox 360 by more than three to one. That would mean something like ~50k Wiis and ~15k 360s sold last month.

September rough estimates:

Wii: ~50k
PS3: 47k
360: ~15k

Nintendo's Rose Lappin expects to sell a further 400,000 Wiis by the end of the year on top of the current 1.4m, and expects to be at 2m total by March 2010. She also says 3m is a possibility by the end of 2010.

Nintendo's Wii forecasts:

Dec 2009: 1.8m
Mar 2010: 2m
Dec 2010: 3m?

ESAC Release "Essential Facts About the Canadian Computer and Video Game Industry (2009)"

ESAC have released their annual report on the Canadian video game industry, unfortunately unlike previous years this year's contains no market data. Thus I have yet to see any market data for total software units or value in 2008. From a previous article it's known that the overall market for Software, hardware, and accessories was worth C$2.09b in 2008 with 3.1m units of hardware sold.

It seems that Canadian data is hard to come by these days, with nothing released since an overall market report for Q1 '09, and no hardware numbers released since 2008.

The report did however contain top 20 software charts for the year ending in July;
